Service Above Self Award

Each year the Rotary Club of Valdese honors an individual for their commitment to the quality of life in central/eastern Burke County through their efforts and/or resources. This award will use the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self” as the guidelines for the selection. Any person or organization who volunteers time and/or resources is eligible to receive this award. Anyone may enter a name by filling out a nomination form.

A committee of past presidents of the Rotary Club of Valdese will serve to choose the winner of this award. The award will be called the Rotary Club of Valdese “Service Above Self Award.” The winner will receive a personal plaque and will have their name put on a permanent plaque in the Whisenant Rotary Room. The recipient will be honored at one of our lunch meetings in November. The program that day will be the recognition of the recipient and the presentation of the award. We will also honor this recipient by having them ride in the annual Valdese Christmas Parade.

All Service Above Self Award Nomination Forms must be turned by October 30.
